It honestly feels like high school, but everyone is grown adults. There is a lot of gossip and rumors about everyone, and people have formed cliques, which adds to the negative culture. Finally, the general vibe and culture is very negative. But the keep you strung along by dangling the carrot of a raise or promotion in front of you. The company also under pays all of us, and there are no opportunities for a raise without advancement. You can ask your supervisors to help and they act like they care but they never take any real action to help you. Give you completely unmanageable caseloads and write you up for not getting all of your work done, which is impossible to get done. The clients are so amazing and light up your day everytime you see them. And a lit of the people who work at serenity are very friendly and caring. If you're working in the office you can flex your hours, which is nice. I'll start with the positives: if you work as direct care you can get basically unlimited overtime as long as you're willing to work. Being able to always happy and having the ability to interacted with my individuals, and making sure their needs are being met. The most enjoyable part of the job is being able to be a people person. The hardest part of the job is not knowing the importance of acceptance others differences. And, most importantly, a positive workplace environment reduces stress in employees. Job satisfaction, collaboration, and work performance are all enhanced. A positive workplace culture improves teamwork, raises the morale, increases productivity and efficiency, and enhances retention of the workforce. You have to pass out medication which is very easy and common sense based. You’ll have to stay over and/or work doubles (16hrs) because staff always calls in and that leaves the person who should be getting off, to stay until someone can come to the home.
